Morning extended care is available from 6:30 am until the start of the academic day at 8:30 am. Students are provided a supervised setting in which they can work on their studies, read, and prepare for the academic day. Afternoon extended care is available from 2:30 pm until 6:00 pm. Elementary students are allowed a supervised 45-minute period after school to finish up any homework they may have with an unobtrusive teacher available at all times to answer questions as needed. When classes end for the day, the children can enter our expansive playground for Independent Play, depending on weather conditions, for at least 1 to 1 1/2 hours after school. The playground is fully stocked with swing sets, sliding boards, and sand boxes for the children to play with. A separate section for the younger Toddlers and Infants is fenced off to facilitate a safe environment for all ages. The school also has a Nature Trail that is constantly "under construction" with the children planting flowers, vegetables, and weeding and growing plants. It's also a great place for the children to hike and explore nature at her finest. After Independent Period is over, the children are divided into groups for activities ranging from art to music to dramatic play. Board games, puzzles and group games are also played during the after school hours.
